CSPS Presents the Peskanov Piano Festival - 2015

Once again world-renowned concert pianist, composer and pedagogue returns to the Tri-Cities area for the annual Peskanov Piano Festival. Mr. Peskanov just returned in late December from Moscow where he performed a musical tribute to the great Russian violist, Leonid Kogan, at Rachmaninov’s Hall. Our event consists of a week of master classes and Piano Olympics with Mr. Peskanov, culminating in two concerts. Carol Stone and her students are hosting these activities. Other participating local teachers include Sara Emery, Martha Painter, Geraldine Fish and Anne Sorrell. After absorbing the musical input from Mr. Peskanov, the students will perform, along with Mr. Peskanov himself at ETSU’s Mathes Hall, Johnson City, TN, in two concerts on Saturday, January 17, 2015, at 4:30 PM and 7:00 PM. Each concert will present a different program. A reception will follow each concert. Donations are appreciated and will be accepted at the door.These unique concerts with local young pianists and Mr. Peskanov are bound to light up your January and get your musical year off to a great start. Repertoire will include a concerto, two piano works, and a 6-hand trio, all composed by Mr. Peskanov. The students and Mr. Peskanov will also perform classical repertoire and solo compositions.
