Teacher Information for Peskanov Festival - 2015

The Peskanov Festival will be here before we know it. Please let me know by Monday, December 1, 2014, if you and your students (and how many) would like to participate in the festival scheduled for January 12-17, 2015. This will, of course, include a private lesson in my studio with Mr. Peskanov, a Piano Olympics group session, also in my studio, and a recital on January 17, 2015, in Mathes Hall at ETSU in Johnson City, TN.

Particulars:

  • Students of any level are encouraged to participate.
  • Solo, duet, 2 piano pieces are acceptable.
  • Teachers may perform, too.
  • Participation fee will depend upon the number of participants, but it will be held as low as possible. Any sponsorship ideas you may have will be welcomed. At this time the estimated fees will be $90.00 for individual one-hour private lessons, and $40.00 for the group Piano Olympics sessions.
  • Donations will be accepted at the door.
  • We will mix students from all of our studios in the concert.
  • Each teacher will introduce his or her own students.
  • We want to build camaraderie, support each other and each other’s students.
  • Dress code for the concert:
    • Ladies – skirt or dresses preferred; dressy pants acceptable
    • Gentlemen – Dress slacks, dress shirt (ties optional, but nice), sport coat
  • Brief run-through of pieces once with Mr. Peskanov in Mathes Hall prior to the performance.
  • Decisions on the reception will be made later. Madeline Crow will coordinate the reception.
  • A DVD of the concert will be available at a later date for $20.00.
  • Flyers will be made available for distribution.

As the event director, I will be responsible for:

  • Scheduling private lessons and Piano Olympics sessions
  • Arranging Mr. Peskanov’s transportation
  • Collecting fees
  • Scheduling the concert hall
  • Arranging the tuning of the pianos

Based on past experiences this will be a fun, educational and inspiring event. I really hope you and your students can participate this year.
